Our Work
With the engagement and audience our organization is serving now, we want to plant a seed together in community to provide our people with the tools necessary to address mental health and wellness. Our hope in bringing this engagement to our community is for them to feel like they have accessible, reliable and tangible resources they can lean on.
Community is what... we create together.
As one, we can commit to building a San Diego where our Samoan/Pacific Islander people can enjoy mental health and wellbeing while changing the stigma and constructs within our own community.

Wellness Wednesday
This event is about realignment. This space will provide support in the development and implementation of comprehensive wellness programs as well as organizations tailored to meet the diverse needs of our Pasefika community. In honor of Suicide Prevention month, through engaging discourse, and collaborative initiatives, our goal is to empower our youth to embrace healthier lifestyles, cultivate resilience, and enhance their overall wellness. This will be a mindfulness zone that will be able to provide you with the opportunity to minimize sensory input and connect with our fellow peers in the Pasefika community.

"Planting the Seed"
Our first Wellness Wednesday in honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. As a Samoan/Pacific Islander led organization we believe in curating spaces for our community to thrive in all aspects of life. This past Wednesday we had the opportunity to not only curate and share space for our community but hold space together. With 3 generations and 90+ participants we brought awareness to Suicide prevention and Wellness. Many of today’s society have different understandings of Mental Health. The stigma, shame and silence behind it puts us all in a construct. With the help of our sister organization SCDC, we had Pasefika Clinicians and facilitators define their understanding of mental health. “Mental health; is the way we think and feel about ourselves and the world around us.” While SCDC SWI Team led an interactive presentation we also curated stations to stimulate, nurture and plant seeds of knowledge to supporting our wellbeing.
